Peren (“Peren”, “we”, “us”) helps you track the food in your kitchen, reduce waste, and shop smarter. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Peren, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

Peren is a mobile application. For any privacy question, contact us at support@perenapp.com.

2. Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address (and a securely hashed password). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from your Google account. An account is required so we can sync your data.
• Your kitchen data. The items you add (names, categories, expiry dates, prices, quantities, notes), your shopping lists and baskets, and your history of AI questions and answers.
• Photos you scan. When you use photo or receipt scanning, the image is sent to our AI provider to recognize the products in it. These photos are used only to read the items and are not stored on our servers.
• Purchases. If you buy an optional subscription or item, the purchase is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store and validated through our payment partner. We receive a purchase confirmation but never your full card details.
• Device settings. Your language, currency, theme and notification preferences are stored locally on your device.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the app: track your items, send expiry reminders, and keep your lists.
• To power AI features: recognize the food in your photos and generate recipe and storage suggestions.
• To sync your data securely across your devices.
• To process and deliver your purchases.
• To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Artificial intelligence

Some features — recognizing groceries from a photo, reading receipts, and answering “what can I cook” or “how should I store this” — send the relevant content (the photo, or your question together with the item names) to Google’s Gemini AI service for processing, and the response is returned to you. Photos are processed only to recognize items and are not retained by us.

5. Service providers

We use trusted providers to run Peren:

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in and secure storage of your account and kitchen data.
• Google (Gemini AI) — processes AI requests (photos and questions).
• Google Play / Apple App Store & RevenueCat — process and validate purchases.

These providers process data only on our instructions and to provide their service.

6. How your data is protected

Your data is isolated to your own account: our database uses row-level security so each user can only access their own information. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and access is protected by your login.

7. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@perenapp.com from your account email address; we will delete your data within 30 days. Locally stored settings are removed when you uninstall the app.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@perenapp.com. You may also withdraw consent or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children

Peren is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country by our providers. We rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
